Pate's game-winning 3 gives LuHi second straight Fed title-

Down two to Harborfields with two seconds left, Long Island Lutheran junior Anthony Pate pulled up and hit the game-winning 3-pointer from the corner. It was a scenario he and his teammates had already envisioned earlier Saturday.


Boys & Girls Win NYS Fed States Over Mt. Vernon-

Wesley Myers hit a three pointer from the right corner to start a 21-2 run that went all the way until halftime. Myers, who scored 17 points and only missed one out of nine free throw attempts, finished the quarter by getting a steal at midcourt with 5 seconds left. He was able to get all the way to the basket and score while getting fouled. Myers , who scored 17 points, made the free throw and actually stole the inbounds pass with 2 seconds left. He almost made the shot, but the damage had been done. Leroy Fludd also did damage in the period, scoring 7 straight points, two coming off a steals that started a one man fast break.


One for the thumb: Collegiate thumps Bishop Ludden for fifth straight 'B' crown-

Saturday’s New York State Federation Class B championship game had perfect symmetry for Collegiate and its star seniors Ryan Frankel and Connor Huff.


Iona Prep falls in Class A Federation semifinal-

John Patron scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Ringen added 18 points and six rebounds. Teammate Lucas Woodhouse also had a big contribution in the win, adding 14 points with five assists.


Mount Vernon's Cousins talks final five, St. Ray's magical run ends-

Isaiah Cousins recently cut his list of colleges down to five – Xavier, Oklahoma, UConn, Dayton and Virginia Tech made the cut – and on Saturday, Mount Vernon coach Bob Cimmino said the star senior would pick a school by mid April.


Point Guard Bloodman Visiting Seton Hall- Zags Blog

Seton Hall hopes to add another point guard to its 2012 recruiting class and is focusing on 6-foot Trivante Bloodman of Olney (Ill.) Central College.


Zebra Classic slated to start on Tuesday-

The 2012 John Sherlock Zebra Classic will begin on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Nottingham with action between Bottar, Leone and NAPA Auto Parts at 6pm and IBEW Local 43 vs. Pathfinder Bank at 7:45.


Big 10's senior boys win-

The Suburban Council took advantage of a Big 10 cold spell to open the third quarter and tied the game twice behind the shooting of Jackson Shea (Shenendehowa) and Cameron Dobbs (Guilderland), but Lott, Burrell, Brown and Rushon Young (Bishop Maginn) quickly scored after coming back in. The Suburban Council never shaved the deficit below five points the rest of the way.
